Dr. Chintan Shah

Pediatric Neurologist

    Dr. Shah completed medical school from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India in October 2002. He did two year pediatric residency from Gujarat University, India from November 2002 to November 2004. After completing his pediatric residency in India, he worked as a consultant pediatrician for ten months in government hospital in India.
     
    He came to Canada in 2005 to achieve his goal of further study in the field of pediatrics. He joined pediatric residency program at McMaster University in July 2007. Later he joined pediatric neurology residency program at McMaster University in July 2009. During pediatric neurology training at McMaster he completed EEG certification exam (Conducted by Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists) in June 2012. He received Royal College certification in neurology in June 2013.
     
    Dr. Shah has immense interest in pediatric EEG and epilepsy. He also has interest in cerebral palsy, developmental delay, neonatal neurology and other areas of general child neurology. His future goal is to create epilepsy support program and create awareness about epilepsy in the community.
     
    He is also actively involved in pediatric neurology training program at McMaster Children’s hospital. He supervises pediatric neurology residents during their rotation in community. He also takes part in examination process for neurology resident at McMaster University.

    William Osler Health System: providing inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology service to all sites: Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial site.
    Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre: providing outpatient pediatric neurology service at Barrie site on first Wednesday of each month
    McMaster Children’s Hospital: Dr. Shah is part of Pediatric Neurology Team at McMaster Children’s hospital where he runs outpatient clinic on 2nd and 4th Friday of each month.
